Brisbane FC Score Strong Win

Brisbane FC Wolves moved a couple of places up the Premier League ladder following their 3-1 win over Mitchelton at Carmichael Park on Saturday night.

The solid display gave FC Wolves their third win from four matches, which includes a Cup game and lifted them to eighth on the table.

Striker Cadeau Aoci continued his dazzling form to score the home side's first goal, but Mitchelton struck back just before halftime to level the scores.

david_rowleySecond half goals from Trent Clulow and Dave Rowley (pictured) put the match in FC Wolves keeping, but Mitchelton did not give up the fight according to FC Wolves coach Sam Saif.

The visitors were without their coach Iain Fagan, who was taken to hospital earlier in the week following chest pains.

''Our thoughts go out to Iain and we wish him a speedy recovery. His players certainly didn't let him down, they played hard until the final whistle,'' Saif said.

''In saying that I was pleased our boys kept it going too. We've played better and lost matches before, but I'm very happy with the result, it was a match we had to win.''

It was almost a clean-sweep in all three grades for FC Wolves. The Youth team had a 4-1 win against Mitchelton on Friday and are now third on the ladder. The Reserves squandered plenty of chances on Sunday, but were held to a 1-all draw by the visitors.

FC Wolves players came through the match virtually unscathed, so Saif will have a full squad available for next weekend's tough away encounter against the in-form North Pine.
