Brisbane FC go into Saturday night's Premier League match with the Brisbane Strikers brimming with confidence after their first win of the season last weekend.
FC Wolves defender Matthew Lyell said there is a good feeling about the club after their 2-1 win against Souths at Carmichael Park.
''It was awesome to get that first win on the board. It's been tough going, but we knew if we kept training hard and working it would eventually come,'' Lyell said.
''The Strikers will be tough to beat, but you never know. I think we're in with a chance of beating them. It won't be easy as they have good players right through their ranks, but we have a bit more confidence now.''
The Strikers will be hurting from losses at their last two matches against Olympic and Rochedale respectively. In earlier rounds FC Wolves drew against those sides, which sets up the opportunity for an entertaining match.
FC Wolves coach Sam Saif is unlikely to change much from last week's line-up. He was elated with the performance and is confident his side can lift a notch against one of the league heavyweights.
''It's not going to be an easy task, they are one of, if not the biggest clubs in Brisbane. They've had a couple of losses now, so they'll be hurting and we expect them to come out firing. We'll approach it like any other game and try and get a win, but it would be great to come away with a result,'' Saif said.
Luke Fallini came through his toughest test against Souths, since recovering from an ankle injury. Fallini is likely to again be in the starting line-up as part of the FC Wolves defensive line.
Strikers v Brisbane FC Wolves, Perry Park, kick-off 7pm.
