After a frustrating start to the season FC Wolves broke their shackles to score a 2-1 win over Souths United at Carmichael Park on Saturday night.
The result gave the club a hat-trick of wins after the Youth team won 2-1 on Friday night and the Reserves beat Souths United 2-0 in the curtain-raiser to the main game.
The result lifted FC Wolves to six points, just three points adrift of a very congested mid-table.
Coach Sam Saif said he felt the team had turned the corner and was elated with the result.
''The boys did well, we deserved it and there was a lot of satisfaction when they walked off the park. There's been three or four games this season we probably deserved more than we ended up with, but this time we got our just rewards,'' Saif said.
''I think there was a bit of relief, that we actually won our first game, when the ref' blew the fulltime whistle. Now we've got one on the board hopefully we can get a few more and push on to mid-table, where we hope to finish.
''Overall it was a great night for the club. The Youth team won the previous night and the Reserves also won, which was the first time we've done it in all three grades this season.''
FC Wolves dominated the first half and striker Trent Clulow (pictured) sent the home side ahead with a powerful shot midway through the period.
Near the hour mark a luckless own goal gave Brisbane FC a two goal buffer, but to their credit Souths kept on fighting.
With about 10 minutes to go the visitors netted and then pushed hard for an equaliser. Saif admitted that some panic came into play, but the home side held on for a deserved win to the delight of their fans.
''There was a bit of panic in the last 10 minutes, they threw everything at us and the boys were just trying to smash everything clear. It was tough going but they did well to hold firm and keep them out under so much pressure.''
Brisbane FC face another tough task next week when they take on the Brisbane Strikers at Perry Park.
