Peninsula Show Power Against Brisbane FC

Brisbane FC Wolves coach Sam Saif rated Peninsula Power as good as any team in the Brisbane Premier League after his side's 4-1 loss at A.J. Kelly Field last Saturday.

''We've played some of the top sides like Rochedale and Olympic and Power are as good as any of them. They're a strong side and a definite finals contender,'' Saif said.

alex_loiseauFC Wolves started well and netted the first goal after 10 minutes when striker Cadeau Aoci finished off after nice work from Alex Loiseau (pictured).

An own goal levelled the scores and then Power scored two more before the break to go to halftime with a 3-1 lead. Skipper Steve Forshaw made it four when he slotted home a penalty after the break, the only goal for the half.

Brisbane FC coach Sam Saif said the match was one of the most disappointing this season, when Wolves again missed several scoring chances.

"We haven't won a game yet but it was the first time this season we got what we deserved," Saif said. "We were better than them in the first 20 minutes but overall they were a better side than us. They're a big powerful side and their three goals came in quick succession.

''That's the difference, they've got people who can score goals, we haven't. That's been the story so far for us, we have out shot teams in every match we've played, but the goals haven't come.''

The win was Power's fourth from six matches and lifted them to equal second on points behind Rochedale, but third on goal difference.

The loss should spark a big performance from FC Wolves when they meet Souths United at Carmichael Park on Saturday, kick-off is 6pm.
