Brisbane FC Wolves coach Sam Saif has no doubt the job at hand against Peninsula Power will be just as tough as the last three rounds against league heavyweights, Olympic, Rochedale and Brisbane City.
A controversial disallowed goal denied Brisbane FC Wolves their first win of the season against Brisbane City at Carmichael Park last Saturday night.
After being locked at 1-all midway through the second half FC Wolves were denied the match winner when the referee ruled a hand ball.
Saif was bitterly disappointed with the decision and said the ruling was one of the worst he had seen in his career. However he preferred to look on the bright side that FC Wolves had not lost in three matches.
FC Wolves have shared the points at their last three outings and Saif expects a tough match against the Power outfit that has been rejuvenated by coach Terry Kirkham.
‘'Power will have our utmost respect. Terry has done a fantastic job since he came in last season, when he took them from the bottom of the ladder to finish mid-table. I've seen them play a couple of times this year, they're a powerful side and very well organised, they're a side that will be pushing for the top four.
‘'It's going to be very tough for us, but we'll be treating it like every other game and be going out to try and win,'' Saif said.
FC Wolves are currently third bottom on the table, but have the third best defensive record in the league. Saif said his defenders will need to be on their game against Power, who have former A-League striker Royce Brownlie as their target man.
‘'We defend as a unit and attack as a unit, but Royce will be another challenge for our defenders. The boys have done a great job against some quality players in recent weeks and this week will be no different for the lads.''
Wolves defender Matt Lyell (pictured) has declared he will play. Lyell, who is still not fully right after injuring his ankle in the pre-season, rates Power as one of the biggest sides in the league and is expecting a hard fought encounter.
