All going well Brisbane FC defender Matt Lyell (pictured) will finally make his first team appearance against
Rochedale Rovers at Carmichael Park tomorrow night.
Lyell, 24, has been sidelined since the pre-season with an ankle injury. The experienced winger is extremely keen to get back on the park and help his depleted side.
FC Wolves coach Sam Saif is likely to start Lyell on the bench.
''I'm still not 100 percent, but very happy to be coming off the becnh. If I can get out there for the last 20 minutes it will be great, it's been very frustrating not being able to get on the park in the first three rounds,'' Lyell said.
Lyell has seen enough to believe FC Wolves can finish much higher than they did last season. He said the club's professional approach will eventually pay dividends.
''I think we've done alright so far, it's way more professional at the club than last year and the guys are enjoying it. We've been a bit unlucky not to get three points in two of our games and hopefully we can get something out of the game against Rochedale.''
Lyell believes Rochedale will come out all guns blazing after FC Wolves dealt them a rare loss (2-1) during the pre-season.
''It's up to the guys, but we can beat them. We did well against them in the pre-season and I reckon Rochedale will want to try and teach us a lesson. We'll have to be ready, it should be a great game and we're looking forward to it,'' Lyell said.
Brisbane FC Wolves v Rochedale Rovers, kick-off 7pm.
