Wolves coach Sam Saif is hoping for a strong performance against Beenleigh at Richlands tonight, but winning is not a priority.
Saif will blood several newcomers and is focused on players getting to know each other and also improving their fitness.
"I'll be trialling a lot of players over the course of the pre-season. While we will be trying to win every game our priority in these matches is players gaining match fitness and getting used to each other,'' Saif said. ''I'm really happy with the squad, they've all been training well and there's a good atmosphere about the place.''
Attacking midfielder Danny Lewis will captain the side tonight and there are two or three other players in line for a leadership role this season.
Former Toowoomba keeper Ryan Pearce will start between the posts. Pearce, 20, has spent the last two years in Darwin and is one of several keepers in line for the first team job.
Kick-off is 6.30pm.
